How to start screening new applicants

Using tenant screening with the Homeward app is quick and straightforward, taking the bureaucratic part off of your to-do list.
Inviting Your Prospective Tenants

To invite potential tenants, click on the screening tab at the bottom of the home screen.

Click on the “screen new tenant” button, choose the vacant unit to which the prospective tenant is applying and enter the candidate information (i.e., full name, email, and phone number). This way, when you decide on your new tenant, their data will already be saved under the unit, making the onboarding process easier

Complete The Application

To fill the screening application, you will need to verify the property, landlord, and tenant’s information and choose what report you would like to receive and who will pay for it. 

We offer a full TransUnion report that includes a credit score, criminal and background check for $38, or a credit report for $30.

What’s Next?
The prospective tenant will receive an email requesting additional information to complete the screening. Once the tenant completes their part, you will receive an email and an app notification informing you of a change in their application. It will take up to 24 hours to receive the full report, but it usually takes much less.
